Meet 'Dell Tha Don' aka Dale Mwale, Guest on the most recent edition of the Chanters Lodge Experience with the Milli Jam Ingredient featuring Jay Hillz, our weekly Sunday night radio show airing on Zambezi fm, Livingstone's leading local radio station, for now transmitting on 94.1 fm and streaming live on the internet. Dale is an entertainment officer at Club Fairmount in Livingstone, the longest established disco/club in the city and still packing in the weekend crowds. Milli Jam wanted to know why Dale spelt his DJ name as Dell and not Dale and also where 'Tha Don' part of his name came from. Dale made us laugh when he explained that people in Zambia were pronouncing Dale as 'Darlay' so he was forced to change the spelling! Don came from Don in Prison Break, one of his favourite shows.

Dale told listeners that apart from his duties at Club Fairmount he also has one show per week on Zambezi fm, rocking the airwaves every Saturday afternoon. "How did you get into this business?" Jay wondered. Dale said that after completing Grade 12 he had undertaken a journalism course at Evelyn Hone College in Lusaka, at which he received experience on Hone FM, the College's local radio station. From there he had returned to Livingstone and undertaken a course in IT at Livingstone Institute for Business and Engineering Studies. In 2011 he had landed a job with Radio Mosi-o-Tunya in Livingstone and his career had taken off from there.

The music on the show was good featuring tracks from Flo Rida and Sam Smith at the top of the show. Other tracks were from Gwen Stefani, Zambia's Slap D, Ed Sheeran and Zambia's evergreen K'Millian. Our pick of the week was Jason Derulo's 'Want To Want Me' and we closed with Usher ft Juicy J and 'I Don't Mind'. We did not play an oldie of the week as we are reconsidering the best way to give away the regular weekly prize of dinner for two with drinks at the lodge.

Dale told listeners that he is not yet married but has a steady girlfriend with whom he has a 4 month old baby boy. His favourite type of music away from work is old Zambian kalundula and his favourite band The Serenje Band. He does not have a lot of interest in football but when he does it's Zesco United in Zambia and Arsenal in UK.

He has walked with the lions in Livingstone but has not done the bungee jump. He has travelled quite widely to Zambia's neighbouring countries. Asked where he would like to be and what he would like to be doing 10 years from now, Dale said that he wanted to be settled down with his girl friend and son, still working part time in the music business and successful in a variety of businesses.
